And why it’s more important than ever

In partnership with Ford

In The Driving Seat video series, in partnership with Ford, Marie Claire’s digital editor Holly Rains hit the road, driving the Ford Puma, to meet Abadesi Osunsade, founder and CEO of Hustle Crew, a diversity consultancy.

Having worked in the tech industry for ten years, Abadesi discovered there was a real lack of representation and has been shaking up the tech world as we know it ever since to make the industry she loves more diverse.

With a focus on eliminating equality by educating employees and employers alike, Abadesi has gone on to launch a podcast, a business, as well as a book, and an array of other things.

We spoke to the creative technologist to find out what it’s been like to build a career in tech, how she coped when she was laid off at the beginning of the year, and how she manages to stay positive and motivated. “It’s time to create a working culture where everyone feels valued and heard,” says Abadesi. And we couldn’t agree more.
