And how she could see a future way of working long before most of us

In partnership with Ford

As part of our Back In The Driving Seat video series, in partnership with Ford, Marie Claire’s digital editor Holly Rains went on a road trip in the Ford Puma to meet Ruth Crilly, entrepreneur and beauty creator.

Here, Ruth reveals how she could see a future way of working long before most of us and why relocating was one of her boldest career moves.

Ruth Crilly, known to many as ‘A Model Recommends’, worked extensively as a fashion and beauty model before deciding to share her tips with the online masses. Her honest reviews, in-depth knowledge and witty writing style garnered her a loyal following just as social media exploded.

After years of moving around because of her work, she made the bold decision to leave her home in London to live in the countryside where she embarked on her biggest journey yet – motherhood.

As well as juggling being a new mum, Ruth has kept her career on track and, as if that wasn’t enough, she even started a new business venture – launching her app ‘The Night Feed’, which helps connect new mums and track their feeds – proving that you don’t have to be in the city to be an entrepreneur and successful business owner.
